Meet the Expert lunches

As a participant at MatchPoints, you get an unique opportunity to network with and learn from one of the experts from the conference through our Meet-the-Expert lunches.

The concept is an informal lunch with a keynote or expert from the conference. Up to twelve participants can attend in each lunch, and the lunch encourages a lively exchange of ideas and provides space for making new valuable contacts.

Michael Obersteiner

Michael Obersteiner is a world-renowned expert in environmental change and Earth system science. His research spans interdisciplinary fields, including biophysical modeling of ecosystems, forestry, agriculture, economics, and integrated assessment. He is particularly recognized for his work on sustainable land use, carbon management, and the systemic risks posed by climate change.

Henrik Seiding

Henrik Seiding is heading the municipal department of urban planning and environment, covering e.g. climate change, urban development, mobility, infrastructure, spatial planning and building regulations, environmental issues, energy, etc. Aarhus is on the verge of delivering and implementing the upcoming Local Climate Action Plan and Plan for Green Mobility, which are both central to reaching the city’s climate-neutrality target by 2030. Also Aarhus is planning for higher resiliency to cope with local consequences of climate change.

Connie Hedegaard

Connie Hedegaard is former EU Commissioner for Climate Action and Climate Minister in Denmark. She has vast experience in international climate governance and policymaking. Connie Hedegaard argues, that we are really good at setting targets but regretably less impressive when it comes to implementation. In order to deliver on the climate promises we need new ways of collaboration between the public sector, the private sector and the science community.

Peter Mølgaard

Peter Mølgaard is chairperson for The Danish Council on Climate Change. The Danish Council on Climate Change contributes with solid, professional recommendations based on independent analyses which have as their foundation the overall objective for 2050. To achieve this goal it is necessary to look at ways of reducing greenhouse gas emissions throughout society over the next 35 years.

Tommy Ahlers

Tommy Ahlers is chairman of the board at the green think-tank CONCITO. Additionally, he is a green investor and has a strong belief in the fact that science can save us when it comes to climate change.
