During MatchPoints 2025 you can explore the art exhibition Be More – Use Less, created by contemporary artist Lise Vestergaard. The exhibition is designed to inspire all of us to consume less and make small changes. The exhibition brings the climate conversation to life through the senses, combining artworks and soundscapes to encourage reflection on our consumption and its impact on the climate. It features 12 artworks, 12 specific ideas for action, and 12 soundtracks offering inspiration for consuming less.
Lise Vestergaard is deeply inspired by graffiti and explores the relationship between humans and nature. She works with Trash Art, Street Art, and creates pieces with a strong vision: to spark and strengthen the conversation about consumption and climate — a conversation that, ultimately, aims to lead to action.
Displayed around the Lakeside Lecture Theater is a selection of excerpts from the glossary Words of Weather Edited by Jussi Parikka & Daphne Dragona. The glossary showcases the role arts and humanities can take in view of climate change. In discussions on climate and climate change we use a range of terms and words whose meanings this book challenges and explores. For example what meaning do we add to words like wind, waves and military weather? The exhibition in the foyer aims to inspire, encourage reflection, and contribute to a deeper visual and verbal understanding—thus opening up the dialogue on weather and climate even further.
Jussi Parikka is a professor at the Department of Digital Design and Information Studies at Aarhus University. Together with colleagues, he runs the research program Environmental Media and Aesthetics, which aims to support and catalyze more work that bridges the arts, sciences, and humanities.
