As a participant at MatchPoints, you get an unique opportunity to network with and learn from one of the experts from the conference through our Meet-the-Expert lunches.
The concept is an informal lunch with a keynote or expert from the conference. Up to twelve participants can attend in each lunch, and the lunch encourages a lively exchange of ideas and provides space for making new valuable contacts.
Please note, that the seats are available at a first come-first served basis. Registration for the lunches will be available and sent out closer to the conference to all registered participant. The lunches will take place on Thusday May 7 parallel to the regular lunch break.
Francis Fukuyama is an American political scientist and political economist. He is the Olivier Nomellini Senior Fellow at Stanford University's Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies. Fukuyama has written widely on issues in development and international politics. His 1992 book, The End of History and the Last Man, has appeared in over twenty foreign editions. His book In the Realm of the Last Man: A Memoir will be published in the fall of 2026.

Friis Arne Petersen is a former senior diplomat with extensive experience at the highest levels of international politics. He has served as Director at the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and as Danish Ambassador to the United States, China, and Germany, giving him first-hand insights into power politics, complex alliances, dilemmas and high-stakes negotiations that shape global politics. He is a widely used and highly regarded commentator on current geopolitical developments in Danish television and the media.

Derek Beach is a professor of Political Science at Aarhus University specialising in European integration with a particular focus on EU decision-making processes and transatlantic relations. His research examines how major political decisions are negotiated within the EU and how Europe’s relationship with the United States shapes policy outcomes. He has published extensively on EU governance and conducted evaluations for international organisations including the United Nations and the World Bank.

Christine Nissen is a chief analyst at Think Tank Europe. She is one of Denmark's strongest capacities in the field of the EU and an expert in the EU's defense and security policy. Christine Nissen has a particular focus on international politics, security, Western interventionism, and the EU, which she has researched at the Danish Institute for International Studies (DIIS) before joining the Think Tank EUROPA. Christine Nissens Ph.D. dissertation on "Choosing Europe" on the relationship between the EU and national security policy is currently being published by an international publisher.
